Second in the Millennium Trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire builds and expands upon the Lisbeth character. It shows us even more background of her unfortunate past. It’s pretty sick stuff and I’m starting to think Swedes aren’t very nice people at all.
The butt kicking hacker Lisbeth returns to Sweden after time abroad, only to be entangled with elements of her recent and much earlier past. A couple who are investigating sex trafficking are brutally murdered, Lisbeth is blamed. Mikael reprises his role of investigative journalist and seeks to help Lisbeth as time runs out. Despite not seeing her for a year, he still has a thing for her.
